Settle for More

Growing up with a vagabond, Bohemian mom who was always too preoccupied with an endless string of lovers to do much mothering, Chyna Preston has always longed to be normal.  Now, married to Grant, she has the perfect conventional life she’s always dreamed of—a secure marriage to a husband she adores; acceptance into his upper-middle class, conservative, Southern family; a gorgeous house in an upscale neighborhood; and a respectable career as a teacher at the elite Appleton Academy.

But everything changes when she quits her job, refusing to lie about a colleague. Now no one will hire her, their credit cards are maxed out, and the house needs constant repairs.

Inviting Grant’s best friend Hank to move in seems like the perfect solution.

Chyna resists her growing attraction to their new roommate who shares her passion for gardening . . .  until she makes an unexpected discovery that will upend all three of their lives. Now, torn between the respectability she craves and her love for two men, can Chyna risk her heart for the chance to have it all?

About Primary Passion

When Rachel Devery was a desperate young girl living on the streets, Martin and Maribelle had rescued her and given her a home--and a job--at Lliase, an exclusive establishment serving a highly influential and upscale clientele.  Now a grown woman, Rachel's exit strategy is about to become a reality: transforming herself from Lliae's most sought-after courtesan into a respected art gallery owner.

Soon Rachel discovers three promising new artists who can propel her, and her gallery, Found Art, to the success and credibility she longs for:  AW Murphy, a handsome sculptor still haunted by the death of his wife; Klee Kellerman, a shy but talented painter who longs to prove to her dismissive husband, and herself, that she is a real artist; and Marjory Reynolds, the fragile but gifted wife or one of Dallas' richest and most influential men . . . and Rachel's biggest client.

As Rachel's two worlds collide, the four are drawn into a web of lies, deceit, and subterfuge that threatens to destroy everything they have worked for, with devastating--and dangerous-- consequences.

From the glitzy art world of Dallas' elite to the clandestine rooms of its most luxurious brothel, Primary Passion takes readers on a provocative and whirlwind adventure that explores how far people will go to make their wildest--and darkest--dreams come true.

About Me

I have a great day job selling novelty and trend to national retailers. When I'm not making deals, I socialize with friends, practice yoga, coach softball, travel, make jewelry and knit.

I'm an avid reader who loves nothing more than getting lost in a book, written or audio.

Writing Primary Passion and Settle for More has taken lots of hours and I've experienced euphoria and terror in equal measure, but the deeds are done and I'm penning book three.

I hope both novels serve as appropriate tributes to all the authors who have filled my life with their stories.

I live with my supportive husband, a gamer who loves Jane Austen and has read a ton of her fan fiction.

We surround ourselves with a pack of rescued beagles and one mixed mutt, who wagged her way into our lives.  They bring us amazing joy.

Typewriter Keys

I'm an author. Wow!

Writing a novel has been a goal for most of my adult life. I had no idea it would prove to be one of the most intimidating tasks I've ever undertaken.

I don't have a string of writing awards or a list of best sellers. But I've got two books with my name on the cover and that feels like a privilege and a big old check mark on my bucket list.

I hope you get lost in my books.
